Linda J. Caldwell Epps, Ph.D., President and CEO
Linda Epps founded 1804 Consultants to advance educational and cultural organizations. She brings to clients more than 40 years of experience working with educational and cultural institutions, including the New Jersey Historical Society, a statewide museum, library, and educational facility, where she served as President and CEO, and New Jersey Network Television and Radio where she served as Vice President for Institutional Relations.
She held various positions at Bloomfield College, including Vice President for College Relations, Vice President for Student Affairs, and Dean of Students. Linda has earned the Most Distinguished Alumnae Award from Seton Hall University and induction into the Douglass Society, the highest honor accorded to Douglass College graduates. She has also served as a Ford Foundation-funded consultant to several institutions of higher learning. Linda holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University’s Douglass College, a Master’s Degree in American Studies from Seton Hall University, and a Ph.D. from Drew University.
Bryan M. Epps, Urban Policy Analyst
Bryan is a lover of his community. Formerly a Performance Analyst for Mayor Cory A. Booker and Senior Policy Analyst for Michael Bloomberg, he has most recently developed community organizing strategies with Black Lives Matter and directed The Shabazz Center in New York City. As a Newark native, Bryan has dedicated himself to helping to build community through campaign work and institution building.
James Amemasor, Ph.D., Researcher
James has more 25 years of teaching and research experience in the U.S. and abroad. He has served as education officer at Cape Coast Castle Museum in Ghana and as research specialist at the New Jersey Historical Society. James has presented at national and international conferences and was featured in Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North—a documentary film retracing the role of a New England family in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of International Relations at Rutgers University-Newark and Seton Hall University. James has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, a Master’s Degree from Illinois State University, and a Ph.D. in Global Affairs from Rutgers University.
Michele Hickey, Consulting Writer and Webmaster
Michele is owner/principal of Silver Lining Communications, LLC, a boutique writing and marketing services firm that assists nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and small businesses. In addition, Michele is Senior Director of Executive Search at The Nonprofit Search Group, a firm dedicated to “right-fit” leadership for social impact organizations.
